Thank you so much! :)
Thanks for the welcome!
Thank you very much for accepting me for who I am and there is one question that I have, the question is how old we’re you when you were diagnosed with GBS because I was diagnosed at the age of 3 years of age.

GBS Patient Ricky Figg’s Watercolours
Only in February, Ricky Figg, 53, was on life-support, paralyzed after a bout with food poisoning on a skiing trip in Austria a month earlier left his immune system attacking his own body. Now recovering in Middlesex’s Northwick Park Hospital after eight months, Figg attributes his recovery to his art.

First let me thank you for the kind welcome messages. I’m not sure where to post this item so please redirect to proper forum for me.

My story is this:

Friend Frank, 86, and I recently reconnected after a lengthy period and I was surprised to learn he has GBS for five or ? years. He has no use of lower limbs or right hand. He manages well in a wheelchair and motor scooter.

He uses the computer to email using all caps to reduce switching font case. His mail is brief which makes me believe it is a chore he would like to limit.

His computer is five years old and a replacement is in the near future. My thought is maybe an iPad would be an improvement which could be attached to arm of wheelchair and he could take it anywhere.

Your experiences and suggestions are welcome to help recommend things to ease his difficulties.

We don’t correspond too frequently but are planning to have lunch as soon as we can each find time between our doctor visits. Also don’t see him listed in member directory so he may not be aware of this group.

Thanks for your help.
